The ACC (Asian Culture Club) is a club that was recently created 1 year ago thanks to senior, Michelle Weon, the current president of the club, to whom we asked where the idea came from. “There’s a very low population of Asians at Liberty High School and I found that my friends would group by culture because we could relate with each other on certain things that we couldn’t talk about with others”.
The club is dedicated to teaching students about Asian culture. “ It’s an angle to spread awareness and teach about Asian culture, K-pop, Kdramas, anime, etc. It’s something that has been trending at this moment, and our goal is that students know more about our Asian Culture profoundly,” said the mentor of the group, Mr.Park
The club gets together once or twice a month after school from 2:45 pm to 4:00 pm and it teaches students about Asian games and words in different languages. They share a lot of delicious snacks too; food in a lot of variations that is not common to find at the stores and they do activities so they know more about the Asian Culture. “I really like the sense of community in the club” “It’s a really good idea to join the club if you wanna make friends and the snacks are good,” stated senior, Gayle Naughton. They also have events such as language learning days, world festivals, film nights, tailgates, and holiday events in which the students have the opportunity to socialize, meet new people, and be themselves. “The club helped me to make friends and start socializing with people,” explained junior, Yaritza Rodriguez Rodriguez
In conclusion, the Asian club presents itself as a vibrant and welcoming space where fun and active participation are fundamental. Throughout the article, we have explored the various activities they offer, from cultural events to recreational adventures. “Asian Club has allowed me to find a tight-knit community that enjoys Asian culture together and I have made many meaningful connections and memories there,” said Weon. The essence of the club lies in its genuine desire to foster togetherness and camaraderie among its members.
By joining this group, you will immerse yourself in a nurturing environment that celebrates diversity and promotes social interaction in which you can also make close friends as some members said. “They make you feel welcome and Mr. Park and Michelle are really nice,” stated junior, Bethzayda Barahona. The invitation is clear: join them to experience moments full of joy, discovery, connection, and the delicious food and snacks that they have in every meet. This Asian club is not only looking for members, but for friends willing to share laughter, learn together, and create lasting memories. So, if you are looking for a community that encourages you to explore new experiences while having fun, this club awaits you with open arms. Join them and be part of this exciting adventure full of friendship and exciting activities!
