If you are sick of having a boring classroom, but don’t have time to decorate it, then now is your time to talk to our NAHS club members for new bulletin board decorations. NAHS is trying to create a fundraiser for the club and donate to Relay for Life, a cancer charity walk. Relay for Life is an important charity for our club, because one of our art teachers Mrs. Hinton’s mom passed away from cancer, and many people are suffering or watching someone suffer with cancer today, it is a great charity and it has meaning for the club. The fee for a bulletin board is 40 dollars, and the cost would be split in half, half going to the club and the other half going to the charity walk. So far NAHS has gotten two possible bulletin boards that need to be done, but the club has not done any, though would love to help out and decorate. NAHS will discuss with you, how you want your bulletin board to look, and they will accomplish that.
“We are trying to raise funds for our club, but also trying to support our community,” one of NAHS club advisors Mrs. Hinton said.
Many of our NAHS club members spoke of needing more advertisements, for it has been over half a school year, and they haven’t done one. Members spoke of the bulletin boards not just fundraising but also promoting their talents, which could provide more opportunities for the students in the future.
“The bulletin boards bring awareness to the club and show our talents, so maybe more people will want to join,” said Kelsey Brummet, a member of the NAHS club
The members of the club recommend teachers get their bulletin boards done, for it gives them time to focus on important things and have a fun and amusing classroom for their students to enjoy. It also provides for the Art department, which many students are a part of. Some members said that when they look in a classroom they want to be amused, and want to be able to enjoy looking at the walls, but in some classrooms, they don’t even notice the walls.
“I think teachers should get a bulletin board done because it lets us express our creativity, and maybe hopefully more people would want to join,” said member Molly Ritchie.
The club members are hoping that teachers and students will recognize how helpful these bulletin boards are to them and the art department in general, and are waiting for more people to say “ hey, when do you have time to do a bulletin board?” because they’ll do it.
