The Fine Arts Festival is a great way to showcase our work and bring family and friends together to enjoy the beauty of new artists. All the art classes of every grade get to participate in the art show, one or two students are usually picked for each project. The project gets picked by the amount of effort and execution that goes into each project. All three of Liberty’s art teachers, Mrs. Deeney, Mrs. Hinton, and Ms. Billingsley, pick students to enter their names and projects into the show. While showing the artwork of the students there is also a faculty show, showcasing the teachers’ artwork, and showing parents and students the amazing things our staff can do. Our school club NAHS (National Art Honors Society) is a huge help when it comes to setting up and taking down and giving tours to parents and students, and helping explain the art and materials that were used.
“It is a great opportunity to see what liberty provides for this county, with choir and band, it just shows what the art department does,” says junior, Helena Kamph
Many of Liberty’s art students got into the art show, but the AP art classes get to have whole displays. They get these so they can explain their artwork, but also show the amazing work they have done to everyone. The presentations help them explain the emotions and mindset that were going on when making the project and how they did it. A lot are quite nervous about this aspect, saying that people looking at their work can make them self-conscious, but they are excited to see what happens throughout the show, and the new artists’ artwork.
“If you wanna take the time to support young artists. It would show support for the younger kids of any age, and boost confidence,” says senior, Lukas Sullivan-Brown
Most of the artist think of this to be an honor, for they have worked hard throughout their art classes, and then getting chosen for their artwork to be put into the fine arts festival, makes their confidence go up tremendously, and makes them want to create more and keep going.
“I just have loved art as a kid, and I had to skip out on art my freshman year for doable up classes, but I was honored to be able to take art this year,” says sophomore, Kylie Fazenbaker
In the end, students and staff at Liberty would love for you to join them at Kettle Run Highschool for the fine arts festival, for they have been working all year on these amazing projects, that are now being shown to you, come and enjoy music, food, and ARTWORK! With us this year.
