Have you ever eaten school lunches mindlessly? We all have. I decided to rank the lunches based on personal and majority opinions.

#10  Nachos

I would have put them higher on the list if it wasn’t for the low-quality ingredients. Everybody loves nachos, but the school shames them with their canned cheese. The chips are equally as terrible as the cheese, though bagged chips are bagged, so it’s hard to complain. Sometimes, they will put meat or sour cream on the sides, but it’s all usually very low-quality ingredients that don’t even taste good together.

Overall, The nachos are okay, Better than bad, But worse than good.

#9 General Tso’s Chicken /w Rice

Honestly, I love it. The rice is perfect and the rice sticks to the chicken very well. But compared to everything else on this list, the chicken doesn’t compare to stuff like the KFC bowl and the cheese bites. Overall, It’s really good and “high quality” compared to the really bad school food.

#8 Corn Dog/Corn Dog Nuggets.

I have a very good reason for these being so high on this list. The nuggets are good, the pinnacle of school food in my opinion. When you think of school food, you think of pizza and corn dog nuggets. However, the school does not do them justice whatsoever. They aren’t crunchy. The crunch is the entire point of corn dogs/corn dog nuggets.

#7 Cheese Bites.

I love the cheese bites and a lot of the students agree. Something about the cheese marinara combo is just fantastic. No complaints here and I haven’t heard any complaints from the student body.

#6 Chicken Tenders

Pretty basic chicken tender. It’s good with a sauce because it’s a little dry. Usually, you get mashed potatoes with them so dipping it in the mashed potatoes is a good way to fix the dryness.

#5 Chicken Nuggets

Who doesn’t love chicken nuggets, there’s something about eating those school nuggets after a long day that just makes them so good. They aren’t dry, they are decently sized, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with these chicken nuggets.

#4 Pepperoni Pizza.

The best part about school pizza is the variety, hands down. This isn’t just for the circular pizza that you usually get served. This is for the wedge pizza with the small square pepperonis, the breakfast pizza with the sausages, and all of the good pizza the school provides us with. It’s simply “old reliable”, You can’t go wrong with pizza.

#3 Quesadilla

We’ve all been eating them since we were kids. They are engraved in my taste buds, personally. Something about the way the sauce is flavored, how it has a little bit of heat to it. The cups of sauce and sour cream top off the quesadilla making it taste even better, I think it’s just unbeatable nostalgia-wise. It just tastes like school.

#2 KFC Chicken Bowl.

I couldn’t decide if I should put this as number one or not. Michelle Obama and the school system blessed us with this meal. There’s nothing else to say. Nothing on the school menu is as high quality as this. It’s always thoroughly cooked and I’m not sure if they get it directly from KFC, or if it is a frozen meal or something, either way, it is delicious. Hands down one of the best things on the entire menu.

#1 Jimmy Dean Breakfast Corn Dog.

It’s store-bought, and probably the most expensive item on the lunch menu besides the KFC bowl. Besides the breakfast corn dog being sausage wrapped in a PANCAKE, they serve it during breakfast and lunchtime which makes it even better because it’s both a breakfast and lunch item. It’s crispy, easy to make, and hard to mess up and they always have a lot of them.
