The start of the ‘ber months also comes with the beginning of the fall season. Autumn is a beautiful season that has all the cozy vibes. Crisp, orange leaves fill the ground, and knit sweaters are all the craze. For some, one of the most exciting parts about fall is the festive drinks. Around September, drinks including ingredients like cinnamon and pumpkin go into the trend.
Starbucks, a chain of coffee shops, is famous for its range of drinks, desserts, and savory foods. From frappuccinos to egg bites, Starbucks has enough to satisfy your hunger. Apart from its regular menu, Starbucks is famous for its elaborate fall menu. The fall menu consists of not only fun drinks but also desserts. Starbucks started its fall menu in 2003 when it introduced the Pumpkin Spice Latte. The Pumpkin Spice Latte is a staple drink for many. Since the fall menu is a seasonal occasion, Starbucks lovers look forward to this time of year to enjoy their favorite drinks.
Since the launch of the Pumpkin Spice Latte, Starbucks slowly started incorporating more items to their fall menu. Drinks such as the Apple Crisp Espresso and the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew became an addition a few years back. This year, Starbucks added the new Iced Apple Crisp Non-Dairy Cream Chai, the Iced Caramel Apple Cream Latte, the Iced Honey Apple Almond Milk Flat White, and the Raccoon Cake Pop.
I went ahead and tried some of the featured items this fall. I wanted to try 2 drinks and 2 desserts. I started with the classic Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte. According to the Starbucks website, this drink has “A flavor combination of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg and clove.” The Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte had a faint taste of pumpkin since it was iced. It was very aromatic. At some points, it tasted cold and sweet, and at other times it tasted strong and spiced.
Next, I tried the new Iced Apple Crisp Non-Dairy Cream Chai. This drink is described as having “Warm chai spices, creamy oat milk, and ice, topped with silky, non-dairy cold foam infused with apple brown sugar-flavored syrup.” The apple crisp flavor is subtle, but it adds a nice touch to the drink. This beverage has a nice chai taste, and there is a nice balance of sweetness.
For the desserts, I went with the new addition to the cake pop family: The Racoon Cake Pop.
This cake pop is a cake mixed with rich, vanilla buttercream. The vanilla cake is very moist and is dipped in rich, chocolate icing. I loved the little raccoon face that’s designed on top. It’s a small treat, but still very enjoyable.
I ended my Starbucks trip with the Baked Apple Croissant. It’s filled with hot, apple filling and is lightly dusted with sugar on top. There was a good amount of apple filling inside the dough. It is shaped almost like a muffin, but it still has the flaky and buttery taste of a croissant. The apple center is juicy and warm. Overall, it’s a nice dessert to enjoy when you’re in the mood for something warm and filling.
I would recommend trying the new fall menu at Starbucks. Whether you are an avid pumpkin fan or are into something sweeter, there is something for everyone on the menu. The classic beverages are still on the menu, however, the newer drinks are something you don’t want to miss out on!
