School spirit is a necessity at every high school across the country. At Liberty, we have our own club that holds a key part in our school spirit. This club is called “The Eagle Club.”
Eagle Club consists of 5 leadership members. This year’s leaders are senior, Carleigh Cameron; junior, Emma Michnya; junior, Avery Walker; sophomore, Josie Meredith; and finally sophomore, Savannah Perkins. Eagle Club also consists of many non-leadership members. For the past few years, Liberty High School has had a meeting at the beginning of the school year in hopes that new students will join the club.
Essentially, Eagle Club is the main portion of Liberty High School’s student section. The student section is also known as ‘The Nest.’ You do NOT, by any means, have to be a part of Eagle Club to be in the student section, however, if you are a member of Eagle Club, it is highly encouraged that you stand in the student section. Eagle Club members make posters and banners for the sporting events that can either be held or hung in the student section. During this year’s homecoming tailgate, Eagle Club had free facepaint, poster board and markers, pompoms, hand clappers, and so much more. Students who attended the tailgate had such an upper hand at the football game with all of their liberty spirit provided by Eagle Club.
Eagle Club’s main goal is to unite all students to support anything LHS. When students come to support one of our sports teams, it makes the game so much more fun. From catching a touchdown pass to making a basket, when the crowd roars, it makes the players feel so amazing. Knowing that your classmates are supporting and cheering for you is a feeling like no other. A lot of these feelings are able to happen because of Eagle Club. Not only are students in ‘The Nest,’ but usually each home game has a different theme. Themes consist of Frat Night, Pink Out, Wild West, Blue Out, and most importantly, LHS Spirit. When you are in ‘The Nest’ you are expected to dress to the theme, supporting your classmates and showing your school spirit.
Joining Eagle Club can help make your weeks so much more enjoyable. Many student’s favorite part of the week is game day, so joining Eagle Club can help give you more school spirit, making every game ten times more fun. Having school spirit only helps make your year better. You can make new friends through this club, game nights can be more fun, and student-athletes will appreciate all of your efforts to support them and their team. So if you are interested in being more involved with Liberty, or you are trying to make a difference at our school, consider joining ‘The Nest’ on game nights, or just simply join Eagle Club. If you are an adult or student who just wants to see what is happening around LHS, you can follow Eagle Club on many social media platforms. Eagle Club’s main social media platform is Instagram, so follow Eagle Club @lhseaglesnest. GO EAGLES!!
