There are many clubs at Liberty High School. One of the clubs is FCA. FCA, or the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, is the fellowship encouragement of Christian athletes and students who are trying to establish a relationship with God and grow in faith. As a part of FCA, they use the platform they have as student-athletes to share the word and love of God. The goal of the club is to share more about Jesus. They go by the 3 C’s which are Christ, Community, and Character.
In FCA, you can do events such as dinners, breakfasts, bible studies, game nights, bonfires, etc which foster community and spiritual growth. Additionally, game nights and bonfires serve as social gatherings that strengthen friendships and build a supportive environment among members. These activities are designed to encourage teamwork, leadership, and a deeper understanding of Christian values within the context of athletics.
There are many ways Liberty’s Christian athletes can connect. “Athletes support and help each other grow with their relationship with God,” explained senior Grace Lasher. Another way athletes connect as Christians is through prayer before and after games. “We use the opportunities we have as student-athletes to represent Jesus and his love and we get people connected to a church if they aren’t already connected to one” stated sophomore, Abigail Urrutia.
You should join FCA because you can make friends and learn about God. Come check FCA out to see if it is something you might be interested in. FCA has meetings during SOAR every other Wednesday, so make sure you grab a pass. You don’t have to be religious or be an athlete to join, but if you are, FCA highly encourages you to join. FCA provides so many opportunities to build a relationship with Christ, give back to the community, and build up your character. Try and come to a meeting during SOAR to see if FCA is right for you!
