Since the playoffs are coming in the NBA, we need to talk about it and what’s happening. Some teams are already locked in the playoffs, like the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference. In the Eastern Conference, the Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics, and New York Knicks are locked in the playoffs. There are some teams eliminated from the playoffs, as the New Orleans Pelicans and the Utah Jazz. It is a close one of who’s going into the playoffs and who’s not. The great thing about the NBA is that it plays in tournaments where teams can play each other to have a final spot in the playoffs.
It’s not a series, it’s one-and-done. In the play-in tournament, you win or you go home, and it’s actually fun to watch because most of it comes down to the wire at the end. Even in the playoffs, when it’s game 7, it’s a lot on the line to move on to the next round and it’s always a good time to watch that game but if a game is just game 3 or 4 it’s kinda boring because the other team that has a 3 up game on the other team then the losing team has a lot of catching up to do but if they somehow make a comeback that would be insane to see. Some teams have done it before, so it is possible. It is better to watch the NBA playoffs because it’s not one-and-done. It goes to 4 games, but if it’s tied 3-3 or 3-2 or 3-1, then it forces a game 7 or game 6 or game 5 series. There will be only 16 teams in the playoffs, and then after the first round, there will be 8 teams left. Then the Eastern Conference championship with 2 teams, then the Western Conference Championship with the other 2 teams. Then there will be one team standing in the finals and winning the Larry O’Brien trophy. It is called that because it is named after the NBA commissioner from 1975-1984. He played a role in an NBA merger in 1976 and the adoption of the 3-point line in 1979.
There are a lot of things happening in the NBA anyway, like big trades and people going to other teams, so it changes a lot of things in the playoffs. Some teams are going into the playoffs that haven’t been in it for a while, and you could see your favorite team in the playoffs or the play-in tournament, and you can cheer them on. The NBA has a season tournament where you can win another championship if you can’t win the NBA championship. The teams are in their conference facing teams in their conference to be in the tournament, and it’s one-and-done. You lose in this tournament, one time it’s done. You are going home just like you play in a tournament, but if you win, you win the trophy. I feel like the NBA 2025 playoffs are going to show a lot of things. It’s going to be a fun time to watch with your friends and family and just hang out. That’s what sports are about. To watch your favorite team do good and to hang out with people around you. If I had to choose, I would choose the Lakers and Boston Celtics in the Championship.
