Big changes are happening at Liberty! With the recent departure of our former assistant principal, Mrs. Crocker, the school community is welcoming a new face to the halls. Meet Mr. Nobblitt, Liberty’s new assistant principal, who is ready to step into the role and become part of our school family.
Mr.Nobblitt previously worked primarily in education within English classes, like Creative Writing, AP seminar, and has taught all levels of English. He also taught at Fauquier High School for 8 years. He worked as a yearbook adviser, a newspaper adviser, and helped produce the literary magazine. As a kid, both his parents worked in the education field, which led him to want to be a teacher. In fact, the previous year, he had served as an assistant principal at Marshall Middle School. When asked what his favorite subject was to teach, it was ultimately Creative Writing.
Mr. Nobblitt is excited to begin his role as assistant principal at Liberty High School, intending to continue to grow and learn from the teachers and administrators around him. “I am genuinely pleased to be surrounded by such a supportive group of administrators here at Liberty High School. I have learned so much from my fellow staff and principal already,” he shared. His enthusiasm for the job and appreciation for the school community highlights the positive energy he brings to Liberty, making him a strong addition to the team.
When asked about his approach to fostering a positive and inclusive school environment, Assistant Principal, Mr. Nobblitt emphasized the importance of relationships, saying, “Building strong, trust-filled relationships is absolutely vital, in my opinion.” That commitment has already made an impact on both students and staff, who describe him as approachable, kind, and always ready with a smile. Many students have quickly taken a liking to him, and Principal, Mr. Cox agrees that Mr. Nobblitt is a valuable addition to the school community. “I look for friendly, quick-learning, and other admirable qualities in those I help hire,” Mr. Cox explained. “I saw all of those qualities in Mr. Nobblitt and knew he would help our community grow.”
In his spare time, Mr. Nobblitt has several interesting hobbies. “I love to cook….and eat!” Mr. Nobblitt exclaims. Other hobbies he has include reading classic literature, which makes sense given his history in teaching the English curriculum. Mr. Noblitt has also written several short stories and hopes to have them published one day. One of Mr. Nobblitt’s favorite quotes is by Billie Jean King. It states “Pressure is a privilege; people are counting on you.” This particular quote is important to him because Nobblitt states that it’s a good example of pressure sometimes needing to be bad and it helps with motivation and it gives us a chance to grow and change. One thing is for sure, Mr.Nobblitt will be helping to create a safe and healthy environment for LHS, his personality and work ethic will surely help bring out the best of the school.
