The book Ghost was released on August 30th ,2016. Ghost is a young adult novel by Jason Reynolds. It is a good book to read, and it’s relatable for teens. Ghost by Jason Reynolds is a realistic fiction novel about a seventh-grade boy named Castle Cranshaw, who calls himself Ghost. The story follows his journey as he tries to outrun both his troubled past and his own mistakes.The way Jason writes his book makes you want to keep reading and read other books. He is very good at describing situations. Ghost is also a fiction book and could also be a sports book since it’s about track. 

I really like this book; it has such a good lesson on life and growing up. My favorite quote from the book is, “You can’t run away from who you are, but what you can do is run toward who you want to be.” It’s a life lesson that the ghost’s coach said when he got in trouble. It’s also another message in the book that teaches you to run towards who you want to be one day.

  It perfectly describes a teenager’s life about the emotions that happen when he talks about how he likes Brandon and why he doesn’t like him. Reynolds has found a way to capture what teens think about in our daily lives. For example, when Castle goes to watch people in the gym in the book, teenagers personal opinion on certain things, and how he thinks track is just about running.

I picked the book because it has my favorite sport in it, and it caught my eye, and I think it will be inspiring for other sprinters like me . He describes the experience of being on the track team and how the meets and practices are, and how hard it can be sometimes to run track. And also family issues, too, that teens have, and similar stories at school. Also, Ghost has problems with bullies and his friends, especially Brandon, who is definitely his main bully.

If someone asked for book recommendations, I would recommend the book Ghost. It’s always good toe read different genres of books. To see if you like it, and I did that with this book first, I thought I wouldn’t like it since I read graphic novels a lot. I decided to read it to see what it was about at first. I couldn’t focus on the book since there were no pictures. One problem with the book is that there are no pictures that show what the setting looks like, but then I started reading it and realized it’s a good, readable book.

I see why Jason Reynolds books always reach the top seller charts. His books are so good that even some teachers read them and use them in their classes too. That definitely shows that it is a really good book to read, and other people read it too . He has 3 other books too that are really good. and something similar to this book, Ghost. When he writes his book it sounds realistic and I can relate with the book because of the situations he talks about .
