Hayley Williams released her new album “Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party” on August 28th, 2025. But before that, earlier in that month, she released 17 surprise tracks.
You might know Hayley from her band Paramore, which you’ve probably heard their songs before. Paramore first got popular in 2007 when they released their second studio album Riot!. Riot! really got them put out there because of the hits “Misery Business”, “That’s What You Get”, and “crushcrushcrush”. Paramore also has two popular songs on their third studio album called Brand New Eyes; “All I Wanted” and “The Only Exception”, which was a popular track used on TikTok. Paramore also has a song called “Decode” which was featured in the Twilight movie. Paramore was offered to have another one of their songs in the next movie but they declined because they didn’t just want to be known for having their songs in the movies, they wanted to gain recognition on their own.
If you didn’t know it already, Hayley is very talented. Hayley has won many awards, in 2014 she won an MTV Music Video Award for Best Dance Video. Then, in 2015 Hayley won an award for the best rock song. Her latest award was in 2020 for Best Alternative for MTV Europe Music Awards. Hayley is a really good singer/songwriter and writes very relatable songs. Hayley also played volleyball and basketball in high school and college. Hayley can also play guitar, piano, drums, and bass. Hayley is one of the most talented singers of all time; she’s a favorite among many, both young and older. Hayley is considered to be a soprano but she can also sing low notes. During concerts she almost sounds the exact same as in the studio recording, which is very impressive.
Now don’t worry, Paramore isn’t over because she’s releasing solo albums. Hayley says she wants to release solo albums primarily to explore personal themes and experiment with sounds that don’t fit with Paramore. It also arose from a need to process personal struggles, such as her divorce and mental health, in a more direct way than she could within the band structure. Her solo work allows for a more musically “raw” and diverse sound where she can experiment with instrumentation more directly. Paramore is still going on tour to this day, and had a European summer tour this summer.
You can listen to Hayley’s new songs on major streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Youtube. Some fan favorites are “Good Ol’ Days”, “Parachute”, and “True Believer”. Her new album has a diverse and experimental sound that blends various genres, including pop, rock, and electronic music, with influences from indie, alternative, and Americana. The production is described as creative and sometimes unconventional, with styles ranging from late ‘90s alt-rock and shoegaze to acoustic balladry. Lyrically, it explores personal and emotional themes with a candid and often witty approach. The album explores themes of grief, independence, and emotional processing. Some tracks also address her Southern roots and criticizes racism and religious hypocrisy in the region. It is her first release as a fully independent artist, after leaving a major label.
I highly recommend giving this album a listen, as I truly believe it’s exceptional. Paramore’s music, along with Hayley Williams’ solo work, is also definitely worth exploring, they’re all remarkable. Hayley’s talent and musical abilities are extraordinary, and she stands out as one of the most influential artists of the 21st century. I hope this inspires you to experience her music for yourself!
