If you ever wonder about learning a new language, here at Liberty, we offer you our Turkish Class.

In Turkish class, you start on a journey that encompasses both linguistic proficiency and cultural appreciation. The class is designed to offer you a comprehensive understanding of the Turkish language while immersing you in Turkish culture.

You’ll start by learning all the basics. For example, colors, numbers, weather, names of different places, nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, and sentence structures and how to properly use them and includes a wide range of vocabulary, covering common words, phrases, idiomatic expressions, and specialized terminology. You engage with various texts, from simple narratives to complex literary works, to enhance your reading comprehension skills. You’ll write exercises such as composition, essay writing, and formal and informal correspondence. You are going to have some practice conversation that plays a pivotal role, allowing you to impress your speaking skills, pronunciation, and fluency in Turkish.

You also are going to explore Turkish traditions, customs, holidays, and societal norms, gaining insight into the cultural fabric of Turkey it includes the study of renowned Turkish authors and literary works, fostering an appreciation for Turkish literary heritage. You learn about significant historical events, figures, and periods in Turkish history, gaining a deeper understanding of the country’s past. Basic geographical knowledge about Turkey, including its regions, landmarks, and geographical features. You also explore Turkish music, films, art, and other forms of media that provide you with a glimpse into the vibrant cultural landscape of Turkey.

Turkish class is to equip you with the skills necessary to communicate effectively in both formal and informal settings. You’ll work towards developing proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing Turkish, with an emphasis on real-life communication scenarios. Interactive activities such as role plays, debates, group discussions, and collaborative projects enhance student engagement and foster active learning. The fun part is that you get to watch Turkish movies, listen to Turkish music, and participating in cultural events, that provide you with authentic exposure to the Turkish language and culture.

In conclusion, Turkish class offers a multifaceted educational experience that goes beyond language acquisition. By delving into the intricacies of Turkish language and culture, you gain valuable insights into the rich heritage and diversity of Turkey, paving the way for cross-cultural understanding and communication. One thing that I loved about the class is that every Friday it was chay day which is translated to Tea day. It was something super fun because you get to spend time with your classmates and friends and you actually get to eat some of the desserts, candies, and a lot of different things from Turkish, and you’ll do different fun activities. Just don’t think twice and take the class, you won’t regret it.
