Everyone has his or her dream house they would like to live in. When we were children, we had many fantasies based on some of the TV. shows and movies that we watched while we were growing up. Some of us could want a big castle, yet other individuals could want a simple house. There are possibly many different ideas that pop up in a person’s mind when asked what their dream house consists of. “My dream house is a stone mansion in a gated community with at least four bedrooms, a couple of living rooms, a movie theatre, and it has to have a mancave,” said Liberty High School counselor Mr. Beasley.

Imagine being able to go home to the house of your dreams. All of the details are based on your dreams and are customized to your liking. Some people want their house to look like it came from a rich neighborhood, out of a fairytale, or sometimes even out of a magazine. Even some social media platforms provide fancy house ideas. A person could have certain must-haves that are essential to their dream house. “A big kitchen, a big basement for recreational purposes, and two big walk-in closets,¨ said senior Amya Tapscott. There could be different rooms and spaces a person might want in their home to have for any future events they might hold or for any future children they could have. Some individuals could have a specific room or area that they want in the home. “I would like to have a library-type room with a wall full of books. I want it to have tall ceilings with a big comfortable couch,” said Mrs. Zimmer, an English teacher here at Liberty High School. People have different priorities they want met in their homes. Some people might want a house with a large amount of studying and office space, but others could want a room for a guilty pleasure they might have. “I would love to have a room dedicated to my music and another room for my fragrances,” said senior Christian Jordan.

When you walk into your home, you usually want to have a warm, safe, and comfortable feeling, and you should want your guests to feel that same way. “I want a person to come to my house and have a comfortable and welcoming feeling when they walk in my home,” said senior Asya Thomas. It is important to be able to feel comfortable when going into someone else’s house because you do not want another individual to leave your house and not want to come back. There might also be an ideal location a person might want their house to be in. “ If I stay in the Virginia area, I would live in Northern Virginia. If I move out of state, I would move to Texas, either to Houston, Austin, or Dallas,” said senior Amya Tapscott.  Someone could want a more modern home in the city, yet another individual could want a house in a more rural town.

A house in the city could possibly have a more modern-looking build and more up-to-date technology. “In my house, I would like to have a smart refrigerator with a touch screen. I would want Alexa hooked up to the electricity and some kitchen appliances,” said senior Asya Thomas. Technology is all different forms in a person’s house.

An individual dream house could be a very different design than the next person. Whether it is a big mansion or a one-bedroom apartment, it is still special to the person who wants it.  Everyone has his or her imagination when it comes to the things they may want. A person could put in the work for their dream house to be able to say they made their dreams come true.
